Here,

Given=>

atomic number of X = 13

Mass number= 27

Now, since atomic number = numbers of electrons,hence the element will be ALUMINIUM.(metal)

a)Electronic Configuration

=>Since atomic number is 13 hence configuration will be => 2,8,3

b)Valence electrons.

=>No of electrons present in last shell or valence shell.

Valence electrons = 3(here of aluminium)

c)Valency

=>It is the combining capacity if any element.

We can determine Valency of any element by looking into its valence electrons which is present in valence shell.

When valence elctron is <5 then valency is same as Valence electrons.

When valence elctrons are >5 and <8 then valency is determined by substracting the number of valence electrons from 8.

Valency of Aluminium= 3

d) The element is ALUMINIUM

e)Metal or Non metal

It is also determined by number of electrons present in last or valence shell.

When valence electrons is <4 then it is a metal

When valence electrons is >4 and <8 then it is a metal.

Here valence electrons =3 i.e <4.

Hence it is a metal.

f)Type of ion formed by X

Remember

Metals always forms positive ions i.eCation since it has tendency to lose elcetrons and non metals forms negetive ions i.e Anion as it has tendency to gain elctrons.

Here,it will form an Postive ion i.e Cation as X is metal.
