Solution:

1) I think, your question is to verify that (x+y)⁻¹ ≠ 1/x +1/y , when x=2/3 and y=3/5.

(x+y)⁻¹ = (\frac{2}{3}+\frac{3}{5})⁻¹ = (\frac{2*5 + 3*3}{3*5})⁻¹ = (\frac{19}{15})⁻¹

⇒ (x.y)⁻¹ = 15/19 --------------1

\frac{1}{x} + \frac{1}{y} = \frac{3}{2} + \frac{5}{3} = \frac{3*3+5*2}{2*3}

\frac{1}{x} + \frac{1}{y} = \frac{19}{6} --------------2

From 1 and 2 it is clear that (x+y)⁻¹ ≠ 1/x +1/y.

2) Reciprocal of -5/9 is -9/5.

\frac{5}{12} * \frac{-9}{5} = -3/4
