10 kg of mass should be attached from the spring to make the period of vibration is to be 6.28s

Explanation :

At equilibrium position,

kx = mg

=> k x 9.8/100 = 0.1 x 9.8

=> k = 10

we know that time period of an oscillation is given by,

T = 2π√(m/k)

=> 6.28 = 2 x 3.14 x √(m/10)

=> √(m/10) = 1

=> m/10 = 1

=> m = 10 kg

Hence the mass which should be attached from the spring to make the period of vibration is to be 6.28s will be 10 kg
