IUPAC name of given compound is (c) 2,5-dimethyl phenol.

Explanation:

For IUPAC naming, we have to give numbering first.

  • In this given compound we have -OH functional group so the numbering starts from -OH group because according to IUPAC naming rule numbering should starts from functional group if any present.
  • Then 2nd number is given to -CH₃ which is next to or close to -OH group because side chain should get lowest number. in this way we get side chains at 2,5.
  • But if we give 2nd no. to other -CH₃ then we get side chains at 3,6. therefore 2nd no. is given to -CH₃ which is next to -OH group and -OH attached to benzene called Phenol.

so the answer is (c) 2,5-dimethyl phenol
