Since ∆ABC is isosceles triangle

therfore angle opposite to congureny side are congurent.

therfore,

Angle B = x

so, in ABC BY ANGLE SUM PROPERTY OF TRIANGLES

angle A + angle B + angle C = 180

x + x + 84° = 180°

2x = 180° - 84°

2x = 96°

x = angle B = 48° ... eqn 1

and

So, in ABD

by Angle summ property of triangle

84° + Angle B + angle D = 180°

84° + 48 + angle D = 180°.... by eqn 1

132° + angle D = 180°

First answer is wrong both angle will 48°

angle y or angle D = 180° - 132°

y = 48°
