1).Electromagnets are artificial magnets which we can made by flowing current to a conductor.
Magnets which we have are not too strong and their magnetic strength is also fixed by this we can not use natural magnets to perform heavy work. while we can control magnetic strength of the electromagnets by the flow of current and can perform any work.
2). So in order to perform heavy works like to lift heavy machines Electromagnets are used and natural magnets can not be used due to limited and fixed magnetic strength.
