Answer:

If you are an engineering aspirant who wants to aim Central or National colleges of india like IITs,NITs,IISC,IISER,DTU then you should study in gujarat board , You will get enough time for preparation of entrance exams. some people will say that questions in these entrance exams are asked from NCERT textbook, but as i told that 90% syllabus is same and rest you can compensate by reading ncert textbook in your extra time. See we all are aware from the fact that national level competetive exams like JEE,UPSC GATE where we have to competete among students of 29 states and 7 UT students is never gonna be cakewalk and it is always risky to rely on the results of these exams. So even if you’ll not be able to perform well in JEE and won’t get satisfactory results you’ll have plenty of good option for some top colleges of gujarat through GUJCET exam.. Because in gujarat state colleges 85% seats are reserved for state board students and only 15% for CBSE students. It is always good to have many beautiful options in life. so, finally all i wanna tell is whether your target is jee or gujcet, gujarat board is good for both and for jee mains you can buy ncert textbook and read it along with your state board textbook for those 10% topics which are not included in gujarat board textbooks, These points are true for a large chunk of average student, for toppers and above average who constitute only 10% of total cbse students in india who doesn’t even know what is it be like to get below 90 or have always scored 90+ before, because for them it doesn’t really matter because they will always get 90+ and good percentile rank in both board. But if you’ll get below 90 in cbse then there will be drastic difference in percentile rank.

If you’re not much interested for national level colleges or competent enough then you should definitely choose gujarat board after 10th standard.

If you’re not much interested in engineering and wants to go in applied science and research field. Then probably you should choose CBSE board though gujarat board can also be equally good but CBSE will give you an edge over others because of better recognition and slightly better course structure. And then you can aim for Delhi university, iisc bangalore, gujarat university through KVPY exam and other way by performing well in class 12th. Moreover, you can also do Applied science courses in IITs and NITs , like integrated msc courses in SVNIT surat and IIT B,KGP,K,D,M. but for that you will have to give JEE and selection process will be same as engineering and if you’re an jee aspirant and from gujarat state then you should go with gujarat board.(you will have more options in state if unfortunately you fail to get iits, nits).
