Hi there !!

Nitric acid = HNO₃
Egg shell = CaCO₃

When Nitric acid is added to Egg shells , it leads to formation of calcium nitrate , water and carbon dioxide gas .

CaCO₃ + HNO₃ -----> Ca(NO₃)₂ + CO₂ + H₂O

egg shells are made of calcium carbonate. when nitric acid is added, calcium carbonate reacts with nitric acid to form calcium nitrate, carbon di oxide and water.
CaCO     +     2HNO       =   CaNO       +     CO   +   H   O
          3                    3                     3                 2         2
