3. WHEN AUTHORS REMARK ABOUT A CERTAIN PAIR OF BOOTS,MR GESSLER SUPRISINGLY LOOKED AT HIM FOR A TIME TO WITHDREW OR QUALIFY HIS STATEMENT.
