Let the age of the run be x.

Let the age of his sister be y.

Given that Arun is 8 years older than his sister.

x = y + 8.

Given that After 3 years he will be twice as old as his sister.

x + 3 = 2(y + 3)

x + 3 = 2y + 6

y + 8 + 3 = 2y + 6

y + 11 = 2y + 6

y = 5.


Substitute y = 5 in (1), we get

x = y + 8

x = 5 + 8

x = 13.



Therefore the age of the arun = 13 years.

The age of his sister = 5 years.
