Answer:

-180

Step-by-step explanation:

a = -37 d = t2 - t1 = -33-(-37) = -33+37 = 4

Sn = n/2 [2a+(n-1) d]

=12/2[2(-37)+(12-1)4]

=6[-74+(11)4]

=6 [ -74+44]

=6[-30]

GIVEN :

AP = -37 , -33 , -29 .......

TO FIND :

SUM OF FIRST 12 TERMS.

FORMULA USED :

( Sn) = (n/2)[2a + (n-1)d]

where => Sum of n terms = Sn

first term = a

Number of terms = n

common difference = d

SOLUTION :

a = -37

d = -33-(-37)

= -33+37

= 4

Sn = (n/2)[2a + (n-1)d]

S12 = 12/2 [ 2(-37) + (12-1)4]

S12 = 6 [ - 74 + 44]

S12 = 6×( -30)

S12 = -180

ANSWER : -180
