Given numbers are 30 and 72. Here 72 > 30.

According to Euclid's division algorithm, a = bq + r.

On applying the division lemma to 72 and 30. We get,

⇒ 72 = 30 * 2 + 12

Here, remainder ≠ 0, we apply the division lemma to 30 and 12.We get,

⇒ 30 = 12 * 2 + 6

Here, remainder ≠ 0, we apply the division algorithm to 12 and 6.We get,

⇒ 12 = 6 * 2 + 0.

Here, the remainder is 0. Therefore, the HCF of 30 and 72 is 6.

So, HCF(30,72) = 6.

Now,

⇒ 6 = 30 - 12 * 2

       = 30 - (72 - 30 * 2) * 2

      = 30 - 2 * 72 + 30 * 4

      = 30(5) - 2 * 72

      = 30(5) + 72(-2).

it is in the form of 32(x) + 72(y).

Therefore, the value of x = 5 and y = -2.

Hope this helps!
