Insectivorous plants are the living organisms (plants) which obtain their food partially from air,soil and from insects as because they are plants so they live in soil which is lack in nitrogen and they cannot obtain nitrogen directly from air so they trap insects consume them,digest and throw them.

EX.-pitcher plant, bladders wort etc.
