Step-by-step explanation:

Let f(x) = 2x^3 +3x^2 +ax+b

We know (x-2) gives remainder 2

So by remainder theorem

x-2=0

x=2

Put x=2 in the polynomial

f(2)=> 16 + 12 +2a + b= 2

28+2a+b=2

2a + b = -26---------(I)

we know x+2 gives remainder -2

So, putting x+2=0

x=-2

Puting x=-2 in the polynomial we get

f(-2) => -16 +12 -2a + b = -2

-2a + b = 2 ----------(ii)

So we get pair of linear equations

-2a + b = 2

2a + b = -26(add)

-----------------------

2b = -24

b= -12

so putting b=-12 in second equation,

-2a -12 = 2

-2a = 14

a=-7
