Solution :

Let p(x) = 2018x^2018-2017x^2017+..

...+2x²-x+k ,

If p(x ) divided by ( x - 1 ) then the

Remainder is p(1 ) = 1

=> 2018-2017+.....+2-1+k = 1

=> (2018-2017)+(2016-2015)+...

...+(2-1)+k = 1

=>( 1 + 1 + 1 +...1009 times )+ k = 1

=> 1009 + k = 1

=> k = 1 - 1009

=> k = -1008

Option ( 3 ) is correct.

Given f(x) = (3x^2 + 2x - 1)(x^2 - 2x + 4)

⇒ 3x^4 - 6x^3 + 12x^2 + 2x^3 - 4x^2 + 8x - x^2 + 2x - 4

⇒ 3x^4 - 4x^3 + 7x^2+ 10x - 4.

Now,

Coefficient of x^3 = -4.

Coefficient of x^2 = 7.

Product of coefficient of x^3 and x^2:

⇒ (-4)(7)

⇒ -28.

Therefore, the answer is -28  ---- Option (A).
