Now,

x + y = 180° (linear pair)

Substituting the value of y,

x + 40° = 180°

x = 180° - 40° = 140°

Now from ¹ we get,

x = z = 140° (vertically opposite angles)

∴The values are

x = 140°

y = 40°

z = 140°
