2.25 x^2 -16y^2

we can break (1.5x-4y) ( 1.5x+4y+3)

into (1.5x -4y)(1.5x+4y) +(1.5x -4y)×3 [distributive property]

So (1.5x -4y)(1.5x+4y) = 2.25 x^2 - 16y^2

[a^2-b^2 =( a-b ) (a+b) ]

and (1.5 x -4 y) × 3 = 4.5 x - 12y

so (1.5x-4y) ( 1.5x+4y+3) - 4.5x +12 y =

2.25 x^2 - 16y^2 + 4.5 x -12y -4.5 x + 12y

= 2.25 x^2 - 16y^2
