1.Kingdom - It is the highest taxonomical category with very few common characteristics. Example - Plantae, Animalia etc.

2.Divison or Phylum - A group of related class having less similar characters when compared with class, order, family, Genus and species. Example - Chordata.

3.Class - It is the group of related order having less similar characters when compared to order,family, Genus and species. Example - Mammalia.

4.Order - It is a group of related families having less similar characters when compared to family Genus and species.

Example - Carnivora, Polynomials etc.

5.Family - Group of related genus having few similar characters when compared to Genus and species. Example - Felidae, solanacea etc.

6.Genus - It is a group of related species having common characters.

Example - Solanum, mangifera etc.

7.Species - It is a group of individuals having fundamental similarities are called as species.
