Answer:

x=3 and y=2.

Step-by-step explanation:

If we take the (3x+4y) to be a and (3x-2y) to be as b. Then, solving the problem we will get that.

34/a +15/b=5.

Which can also be written as 34b + 15a = 5ab.

25/b - 8.5/a = 4.5.

Which again can be written as 25a - 8.5b = 4.5ab.

Multiplying upper equation with 8.5 and the lower equation with 34 we will get that 289b + 127.5a = 42.5ab and 850a - 289b = 153ab.

Now, adding both the equation we will get 977.5a=195.5ab or b = 977.5/195.5 which will be b=5 and putting b=5 in first equation we will get 34*5 +15a=5*5a which will be 10a=34*5 or a will be 17.

So, 3x+4y=17 and 3x-2y=5. Now, subtracting the second from first we will get 6y=12 or y=2. Now, putting y=2 in the second equation, 3x-2*2=5 or 3x=9 or x=3.

So, value of x=3 and y=2.
