a: Here velocity increases from 0 to 20 in 2 secs So accleration = (20-0)/2 =10m/s2

b: There's no change in velocity during 2 to 10 sec

Therefore accln. = (0-0)/8 = 0

c: Here change in velocity = 20-0 = 20

So accleration = 20/2= 10 (m/s^2) In this case it is called negative accleration or retardation

Accleration is defined as = (final velocity - initial velocity)/time. In other words rate of change in velocity with time.
