x-2 is the factor of x³+ax²+bx+16
f(2)=0
=>(2)³+a(2²)+2b+16=0
=>8+4a+2b+16=0
=>24+4a+2b=0
=>2(12+2a+b)=0
=>2a+b+12=0
=>2a+b=-12...............(1)
but given,
a-b=6...........(2)
(1)+(2)=>
2a+b+a-b=-12+6
=>3a=-6
=>a=-6/3=-2
substitute a=-2 in (2)
a-b=6
=>-2-b=6
=>b=-8
a=-2, b=-8
