Divide 34 into two parts so that three times one part plus 4 times the others is equal to 114.

$x + y = 34.....eq1$
and

$3x + 4y = 114 \: \: \: \: \: eq2$
multiply eq1 by 3 and subtract both equations

$3x + 3y = 102 \\ 3x + 4y = 114 \\ - \: \: \: \: \: \: - \: \: \: \: \: - \\ \\ - y = - 12 \\ \\ y = 12$
So

$x + 12 = 34 \\ \\ x = 34 - 12 \\ \\ x = 22$


So, two parts of 34 are 22,12

Verify:

$3 \times 22 + 4 \times 12 \\ \\ = 66 + 48 \\ \\ =114$
