(a) total distance covered by athletics = 4 × Length of one round

= 4 × 400

= 1600 m

= 1.6 Km

= 1 mile

(b) displacement covered by athletics = final position - inital position =0

{ we know, accroding to question one round equal final position is same as initial position so, displacement in one round = 0 hence, displacement in 4 rounds = 0}

Here displacement is zero because the runner had reach his initial position. The distance covered will be the circumference of the circle.
