Answer:

What is the least number to be added to 7000 to make it a perfect square?

We can solve this using trial and error ;

Firstly we need to get a number which gives a number in the range of 7000 when squared. Also the number when squared should give a number which is greater than 7000 but as close as possible to 7000.

We know that 100^2 = 10000

Let's check, 90^2 = 8100… quite far from 7000 range

We check, 80^2 = 6400…much less than 7000

By this we have an idea that the number We were searching for is in between 81 and 89 as we already discarded 80 and 90.

Lets try, 85^2 = 7225…quite near

If we check, 84^2 = 7056…much much closer

Now, 83^2 = 6889…which we can discard as it is less than 7000

Thus, 7056 is the first available perfect square in 7000 range.

So we can do the maths, 7000 + 56 = 7056

Which means 56 is the Smallest number which can be added to 7000 to get a perfect squared number.
