in the right angled trianle ABC,

 AB^2 + AC^2 =BC^2
 BC^2 = 14^2 + 14^2
           = 392
           =14√2 cm

diameter = 14√2
radius = 14√2/2
           =7√2 cm

area of semicircle = 1/2 \pi r ^2
                             =1/2 x 22/7 x 7√2 x 7√2
                             =154 cm^2

quadrant's area=90 /360 x 22/7 7√2 x 7√2
                         =77cm^2

area of the segment = 56

area of the shaded region = 154 - 56
                                         = 98 cm^2

hope it helps
