angle BAC = angle ACD (Alternate interior angles)

angle BAC = 40°

angle A = 40° (1)

120° = angle DCE + angle CDE (Exterior angle of a triangle is equal to sum of its opposite interior angles)

120° = 80° + angle CDE

angle CDE = 40°

angle D = 40° (2)

From (1) and (2),

angle A = angle D
