Explanation:

Concept used here :-

  • When two values of same bases are multiplied then their power gets added and gets substracted in division.

 {2}^{x - 4}  \times  {4}^{ - 3}  = 1

 =  >  {2}^{x - 4}  =  \frac{1}{ {4}^{ - 3} }

 {2}^{x - 4}  =  {4}^{3}  = 4 \times 4 \times 4 = 64

  =  > {2}^{x - 4}  =  {2}^{6}

Bases are same on both side ;so it gets cancelled.

now comparing the powers :-

 =  > x - 4 = 6

x = 10

Check:-

 =  >  {2}^{10 - 4}  \times  {4}^{ - 3}  = 1

 {2}^{6}  \times  \frac{1}{ {4}^{3} }

 =  >  \frac{64}{64}  = 1
