length of one side of the equilateral triangle is 23 cm

so,

let a = 23 cm

formula for the area of an equilateral triangle is [(3)/4]×a²

 \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{4}  \times  {a}^{2}  \\the \:  \: value \:  \: of \:  \:   \sqrt{3}  \:  \: is \:  \: 1.732 \\ so \\  \frac{1.732}{4}  \times  ({2 \sqrt{3}) }^{2}  \\  =  \frac{1732}{4 \times 1000}  \times  4 \times 3 \\  =  \frac{1732}{4000}  \times 12 \\  =  \frac{433}{1000}  \times 12 \\  = 0.433 \times 12 \\  = 5.196

so, the area is 5.196 cm²

Hope this helps you.
