To construct a square PQRS whose diagonals PR=8cm.

Solution:

Hence,it is given that PQRS is a square and its diagonals PR and QS are both equal and they also bisect each other at the right angles.

To draw such a Diagonal follow the following steps:-

First draw Arab figure of a square PQRS.

Steps of Construction:

Step1: Draw a line segment of measure 8cm=PR

Step2: Now construct a XY ,that should be perpendicular to PR.

Step3: Let O be the point of intersection of PR and XY.

Step4: With O as the center and radius=4cm,(half of QS) ,then draw arcs that cut OX and OY at points Q and S respectively.

Step5: Join PQ,QR,RS and SP.

Now we got a square PQRS as the required square.
