Answer:

The value of α⁻¹ + 1/β is 2

Step-by-step explanation:

given ::- x²-2x+1 = 0

To find ::- the value of α⁻¹ + 1/β

Solution ::-

By factorisation method

x² -x -x + 1 = 0

x(x-1) -1(x-1) = 0

(x-1)(x-1) = 0

x = 1 x= 1

α = 1 β=1

α⁻¹ + 1/β

= 1/α + 1/β ........law of indices :: x⁻¹ = 1/x

= 1/1 + 1/1 ............substituting the value of α and β

= 1 + 1

= 2

Therefore the value of α⁻¹ + 1/β is 2
