A ( triangle ABC ) / A ( triangle DEF ) =

1 : 2.

A ( triangle ABC ) / A ( triangle DEF ) =

AB^2 / DE^2.

1 / 2 = 4^2 / X^2

1 / 2 = 16 / X^2

X^2 = 32

X = √32

X = 4√2.

DE = 4√2.
