Answer:

a). given that:-

X = 1 , -1

Px³ + x² - 2x + q

Put x = 1

we get,

P(1)³ + (1)² - 2(1) + q = 0

=> P + q - 1 = 0

=> P + q = 1---------(1)

Now put x = -1

P(-1)³ + (-1)² - 2(-1) + q = 0

=> -p + 1 + 2 + q = 0

=> q - p + 3 = 0

=> P - q = 3-------(2)

From--(1) and ---(2)

ww get,

P + q = 1

P - q = 3

—————

2p = 4

⇒p = 2 pu in --(1)

we get,

⇒p + q = 1

⇒2 + q = 1

⇒q = 1 - 2

⇒q = -1 , p = 2

students the Answer Will Be b) q =-1 ,p= 2
