first we see in the circuit that 3 ohm and 6 ohm resistance are in parallel
so equivalent resistance = 3*6/(6+3) = 18/9 = 2 ohm
this combination is in parallel with 10 ohm
so now equivalent = 2+10 = 12 ohm
batter is of 12 v
connected across equivalent resistance 12 ohm
so current i = V/R = 12/12 = 1 ampere
thus current in 10 ohm will be 1 ampere
but in 3 and 6
current will be distributed in inverse proportion
let current in 6ohm be 3x
so current in 3 ohm will be 6x
3x+6x = 1 (since 10 ohm and combination of 3 ohm and 6 ohm are in series)
X = 1/9
thus current in 3 ohm = 6x = 6/9 = 2/3 ampere
so equivalent resistance = 3*6/(6+3) = 18/9 = 2 ohm
this combination is in parallel with 10 ohm
