Answer:

Option (2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

P(x +1/x) = x^2 + 1/ x^2

To find:

If P(x +1/x) = x^2 + 1/ x^2 then find the value of P(x) ?

Solution:-

Given that P(x +1/x) = x^2 + 1/ x^2

we know that (a + 1/a)^2 = a^2+1/a^2 +2

=>a^2 + 1/a^2 = (a + 1/a)^2 -2

P(x + 1/x) = (x + 1/x )^2 -2

Let Y= x + 1/x then

=>P(Y) = Y^2-2

On replacing y by X then

=>P(X)=X^2 - 2

Answer:-

The value of P(X) is equal to X^2 - 2

Used formula:-

  • (a + 1/a)^2 = a^2+1/a^2 +2
