In A ABC, EF || AC, BC = 10 cm, AB = 13 cm and EC = 2 cm, find AF

BE/EC= BF/AF

(BE/EC) + 1=(BF/AF)+1

or, BC/EC= AB/AF..............(I)

Then, putting values of BC, EC, AB in equation (I), we get:

10/2=13/x

or, 10x=13×2

or, 10x = 26

or, x =2.6 cm

Hence, the value of AF is 2.6cm (Ans.)
