Hello mate,

Here is your answer,

Let the cost price of the motor cycle for Ravish be Rs. x

Loss % = 28%

S.P = 72 x 100

Selling price of the motorcycle for ravish = cost price of the motorcycle for vineet

Money spent on repairs = Rs.1680

Therefore, total cost price of the motorcycle for vineet =

Rs(72 x 100 + 1680(12.5) + 100(100)

= (35910)(100)(100) = 72 x 100

= 35910000 = 8100 x +18900000

= x= 42000

Ravish bought the motorcycle for Rs.42000.

Let the cost price of motor cycle for ravish be 'x'.

(i)

Given that he sold to vineet at a loss of 28%.

Selling price of vineet = (100 - 28)% of x

                                     = 72% of x

                                     = (72x/100)

                                     = 0.72 x

Given that vineet spent 1680 on its repairs.

So, total cost price including repairs = (0.72x + 1680).

(ii)

Given that he sold the motor cycle to Rahul for 35910.

Selling price of rahul = 35910.

Given profit % = 12.5.

(iii)

We know that Gain = Selling price - Cost price

                                = 35910 - (0.72x + 1680)

                                = 35910 - 0.72x - 1680

                                = 34230 - 0.72x.

We know that Gain% = (Gain/CP) * 100

⇒ (34230 - 0.72x/0.72x + 1680) * 100 = 12.5

⇒ (34230 - 0.72x) * 100= 12.5(0.72x + 1680)

⇒ 3423000 - 72x = 9x + 21000

⇒ 3402000 = 81x

⇒ x = 42000.

Therefore, Cost price of the motor cycle for Ravish = 42000.

Hope it helps!
