Your fountain pen has an ink cartridge (or a tank or a converter) which contains ink; besides ink it also has air inside it.
When airborne, pressure inside cabin is low which may cause air inside the pen to expand and the expanding air will cause the ink to be pushed out.
well hence due to this we dont want our ink to spill out therefore we dont preffer carrying fountain pen.
