Due to respiration, carbon dioxide that is produced is  absorbed by the KOH in the test tube. Due to consumption of oxygen, a space is  developed causing the colored water to rise in the tubing 1

iv) The biological process which causes the above rise is cellular respiration.

v) It is respiration. It is a catabolic process wherein energy is liberated from simple sugars to  be able to carry out life processes.
