Amount of money spent by Kumaran on rent= Rs6000

Let 'x' be his total salary

Then by question,

(15/100)x=6000

=>x=(6000×100)÷15

=>x= Rs40,000

Now, amount spent for education =20% of 40,000

=(20/100)×40000

=Rs 8000

amount spent on food= 50% of 40000

=(50/100)×40000

= Rs20000

Therefore, amount of money he spent more for food than education = 20000 - 8000

= Rs12000
