Pls answer to this question...........Why is bakelite a thermosetting polymer?

Bakelite is a thermosetting synthetic plastic which originally used phenol and formaldehyde as the heat producing catalysts for the reaction. Because these chemicals are considered hazardous, the modern formulation uses much less than the original did.
