Reason :- CD measures 2 + 2 = 4 units in the y-axis. AB also measures 2 + 2 = 4 units in the y-axis. Similarly, AD and BC measure 4 units along the x-axis. All the adjacent sides are perpendicular to each other. So, as all the sides measure 4 units and all the interior angles measure 90°, so the figure obtained is a square.

Area of a square = side²

⇒Area = 4²

⇒Area = 16 unit²
