Answer:

y = x tanθ  - \frac{gx^{2} }{2u^{2} cos^{2}θ }

On comparing the equation with y = 12x - 4x^{2}

we will get,

tanθ = 12

or, Sinθ = 12Cosθ

or, Cosθ = Sinθ/12

and 4 = \frac{g}{2u^{2}cos^{2}θ  }

or, u^{2} Cos^{2}θ = \frac{5}{4}

or, u^{2}Cosθ (Sinθ/12) =  \frac{5}{4}

or, u^{2} Cosθ Sinθ = 15

or, 2u^{2}Cosθ Sinθ = 30

or, u^{2} Sin2θ = 30

or, \frac{u^{2}Sin(2θ) }{g} = \frac{30}{10}

or, Range = 3

Option 2 is correct answer
