pls anyone give the answer with explanation.. _/\_
Heat of formation of ethane -20.2 kcal mol-1 and
heat of atomisation of C and H, are 179.2 kcal
mol-1 and 52.1 kCal mol-1 respectively. If bond
energy of C-H bond is 73.3 kcal mol-1. Then
caculate approx. B.E. of C-C:-
(1) 96 kCal mol-1 (2) 230 kCal mol-1
(3) 88 kCal mol-1 (4) 540 kCal mol-1

Answer:
Explanation:
For convenience, let Heat of formation of ethane = f =-20.2kcal/mol,
heat of atomisation of Carbon = c = 179.2 kcal/mol,
and heat of atomisation of Hydrogen = h = 52.1 kCal/mol,
bond energy of C-H bond = y = 73.3 kCal/mol and
B.E. of C-C = x.
Now, the formula of ethane is C2H6.
Hence, f = 2c + 3h - 6y - x
Solving this eqn, x = 96 kcal/mol
