\sqrt{22+ 4\sqrt{10} }  =  \sqrt{22 + 2\sqrt{40} }

Using Factorisation way,

\sqrt{22+2\sqrt{20} \sqrt{2} }

\sqrt{\sqrt{20} ^{2}+\sqrt{2} ^{2} + 2 \sqrt{20}\sqrt{2}   }

\sqrt{(\sqrt{20}+\sqrt{2}  )^{2} }

(\sqrt{20}+\sqrt{2} ) is the answer
