Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

area of the tin sheet = csa of the cylinder + csa of the frustrum

for cylinder:

radius=4cm

height=10cm

csa of cylinder:

=>2πrh

=>2π*4*10

=>80π

for frustrum:

height=10cm

radius1=9cm

radius2=4cm

csa of frustrum:

=>π(r1+r2)l

slant height=l

=>√[h²+(r1-r2)²]

=>√[(22-10²)+(9-4²)]

=>√[12²+5²] = √[144+25] = √(169)

=>l=13cm

CSA of frustrum :

=>π(r1+r2)l

=>π(9+4)13=169π

SO THE REQIURED  TOTAL CSA IS :

=>80π+169π = 249π

=> 249*22/7 = 782.571cm²

I HOPE I HAVE HELPED YOU SOMEHOW IF WANT ANYMORE PROBLEM TO SOLVE ASK...I AM HERE TO HELP.....

Answer:

Diameter of top of funnel =18 cm

Radius (R) = 9 cm

Diameter of cylindrical portion = 8 cm

radius r = 4 cm.

So,

Height of frustum = Total height - Height of cylindrical part

==> 22 - 10

==> 12 cm

and Slant Height, l = √{h^2 + (R - r)^2}

==> √{(12)^2 +(9 - 4)2

==> √144 + 25

==> √169

==> 13 cm

Now, CSA of frustum = πl (R + r)

==> 22/7 * 13 * 13

==>  531.14 cm^2

Height of cylinder, H = 10 cm

Now, CSA of cylinder = 2πrH

==> 2 * 22/7 * 4 * 10

==> 251.42

Area of tin required = CSA of frustum + CSA of cylinder

==> 531.14 + 251.42

==> 782.6 cm^2.

Hence, Area of tin sheet required = 782.6 cm^2.
