We know that the charge of sulphate ion is - 2 (SO4 - 2)
And that the total charge on a compound is 0
Taking charge on Pb as x
x + (-2) =0 (by adding the charge on Pb and SO4)
=> x =+2.
Therefore the charge of lead is +2
