pls explain this....

ecosystems are not exempt from the second law of thermodynamics.they need a constant supply of energy to synthesise the molecules they require,to counteract the universal tendency towars increasing disorderliness.

the second law of thermodynamics states that whenever transfer of heat takes place from one body to another one there is always the loss of heat in the environment . it is same in case of ecosystem as in food chain the flow of energy takes place but not the complete energy from one organism to other organism is transfered there is always the loss of some part of enery while transfering. only the 10% of the total energy is transferd to the next orgainsm and 90% energy losses in the environment ..
