Pls explain this. Is the reflected ray called negative and incident ray which which goes back in the mirror positive?

the reflected ray goes in opposite direction to that of the incident ray so it is negative
u just take sign convention by drawing an imaginary Cartesian plane with the origin at the pole Of the mirror and take the signs accordingly
