3.Let put p(X)=5x-4x^2+3

putting X=-1

p(-1)=5×(-1)-4×(-1)^2+3

p(-1)=-5-4+3

=-6

Let put p(X)=5x-4x^2+3

putting X=2

p(2)=5×(2)-4×(2)^2+3

p(2)=10-16+3

=-3

4.finding remainder when 4x^3+3x^2-4x+k is divided by x-1

Let divisor =0

x-1=0

X=1

let p(X)=4x^3+3x^2-4x+k

putting X=1

p(1)=4×(1)^3+3×(1)^2-4×(1)+k

p(1)=4+3-4+k

p(1)=3+k

Thus ,remainder =3+k

since x-1 is a factor of 4x^3+3x^2-4x+k

Remainder is zero,

since,3+k=0

k=-3

Thus,k=-3
