Formula used :

Solution :

 { (\dfrac{2 }{3}) }^{3}  \times  { (\dfrac{2}{3}) }^{5}  =  \:  { (\dfrac{3}{2}) }^{( - 1 - 2x)}

using identity,

{ (\dfrac{2 }{3}) }^{3 + 5}  =  \:  { (\dfrac{3}{2}) }^{( \: (  - 1)(1 + 2x) \: )} \\  \\ \sf using \: identity \\ { (\dfrac{2 }{3}) }^{8}  =  \:  { (\dfrac{2}{3}) }^{(1 + 2x) }

comparing power as base are same , we get;

=> 8 = 1+2x

=> 2x = 8 - 1

=> 2x = 7

=> x = 7/2

=> x = (7/2) = 3.5

ANSWER : x = (7/2) = 3.5
